With summer just around the corner, I thought I'd share one of my favorite dessert recipes with you. Maybe you've tried it, maybe you haven't. Either way, it's a win, win dessert.
My friend Mary asked if I had this particular recipe and it made me realize how excited I was for summer and BBQ's and desserts and late night lounging with no schedule.
Ahhhh.......  I can't wait! So..... here it is, in all it's glory. Probably one of the best summer dessert recipes I've tried. It's always a hit. Hope you'll try it!
Happy Summer!

Ice-cream sandwich dessert

 1 cube butter
¼ C. sliced almonds
1 C. angel flake coconut
1 C. rice krispies
1 C. chopped pecans
¾ C. brown sugar
½ gal. softened vanilla ice-cream, hot fudge sauce, whipped cream and a cherry J

spread butter, coconut, pecans, almonds and rice krispies on cookie sheet; bake at 450 for 5-7 minutes. Stir 4 times. Try to keep even after stirring and watch carefully to prevent burning. Remove from oven and add brown sugar right on cookie sheet and mix around. Take out half the mixture to use as topping. Place half mixture in
9 x 13” pan. Put in freezer for about an hour so it won’t move. Top with ice cream. Sprinkle rest of crumb mixture on top. Cover with foil and store in freezer. Top with hot fudge to serve. Add a little whipped cream and a cherry, if you need more decadence. Serves 10-12

Marie had the opportunity to model for Shabby Apple last week. She will be promoting their Junior line. It was such an exciting experience for her. She was basically pampered from morning until night by this darling girl..... Katie Bell and the photographer, Mark Owens. Check out his work here at Markowensphotography.com. She had to model 8 different dresses with 8 different hairstyles, locations and accessories. The girl was in Heaven. She definitely got a taste of the modeling industry.
I'm not sure when the "real" pictures will be posted, but check out shabbyapple.com and you might just see little Marie at some point.
Marie did such a great job and my little girl didn't look so little in some of her poses. I was dying. She was beautiful!
Here are a few of the dresses she modeled throughout the day.
I took this picture with my measly point and shoot, but I can't wait to see what Mark did. He was able to capture the most beautiful shots. I guess it wouldn't be too hard when you
are dealing with a cutie like Marie. She had a blast!
This picture was taken up Immigration Canyon.
Beautiful....

What a night!

Tonight was Hazel's big dance debut.
She was asked to perform with a few of the middle school girls for their
"end of the year"
dance program.
It was seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen.
 Hazel has
NO FEAR!
She loved every minute of it.
I was so proud of my lil' baby.

Look at Hazel's pose.
I promise, she just came this way.
She was pretty exhausted by the end. She told me she wanted to go get a hamburger, chicken nuggets and a vanilla ice-cream cone. Looks like we're heading to good ole' McD's tonight.
Surprise, surprise..... Kellie came to watch! (our favorite babysitter)
Hazel's not excited at all....
I think this is the first of many great dance nights to come.
Way to go cute Hazel......
WE LOVE YOU!

Thanks Daddy!

Once a year Marie has a daddy/daughter dance class at her Dance studio. This year the dad's were heavily involved in performing lift services for their daughters. Marie and Joe had such a great time. I think Joe appreciates ballet a lot more now. It's definitely harder than it looks. I'm so glad Joe takes the time to participate in our children's lives. I know it's complicated and a  huge sacrifice  for Joe to leave work early. I'm grateful he is so dedicated to our kids and to me!
