Thanksgiving recipe of the week....

This dish is one of my all time favorites. I make Praline sweet potatoes every year for Thanksgiving  and even my picky brothers like it.  This is always one of the first dishes to go. It's almost like dessert. Heavenly....
Praline sweet potatoes
 4 C. mashed sweet potatoes
½ C. white sugar
2 T. vanilla
4 eggs, beaten
½ pint heavy cream
¼ lb. butter
1 C. brown sugar
½ C. flour
1 ¼ C. chopped pecans
Butter one 2 qt. casserole dish. Preheat oven to 350. In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet potatoes, sugar, vanilla, eggs and cream. Blend well, and spread evenly in casserole dish. Prepare the topping by combining the butter, brown sugar, flour and pecans. Mix until crumbly, and sprinkle over sweet potato mixture. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven.

Thanksgiving recipe of the week...

I've decided to post a few of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes for the next few weeks before the big day. This recipe is sooooo good and easy. I promise they taste just as good, if not better, as the normal whipped potatoes. The nice thing is you can make them the day before.

Day ahead Potatoes
12 large potatoes
1  8oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened and cut into cubes
1/4 C. butter
1/2 C. sour cream
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 C. milk
salt to taste

Boil potatoes and drain. Beat with electric mixer until mashed smooth. Beat in remaining ingredients, one at a time, until mixed well. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray. Spread potatoes in pan and cover with foil. Refrigerate until day of event. Remove 1 hour before cooking to get to room temperature. Bake covered at 350 for 45 minutes or until hot all the way through.
NOTE: If you're not using gravy, can stir in 1/4 t. nutmeg and chopped chives to taste. ENJOY...
