I'm so excited...yipee!

So, here's the deal. A few month ago, I joined a, 10 favorite things, swap I found on http://www.thehappysorceress.blogspot.com/, called blogging by mail. Such a fun way to get to know people from around the world. I finally got my info and sent a package of 10 things I love, to my swap partner. My gal, Ginny, is from Chicago, she received her package last week. Check out what I sent her at http://www.justgetfloury.com/ .

I've been patiently awaiting my package, when lo and behold, it came last night!!!!!!! This little package came all the way from Stockholm, Sweden. How cool is that? I could hardly compose myself and ripped the box open in a matter of seconds.

The first thing I grabbed out of the box was this lovely post card from Dagmar. She is the cutest, most thoughtful gal ever. She sent the sweetest post card and asked to give hugs to Grandpa. So thoughtful...doesn't she live in a beautiful city?
So, let's cut to the chase. Check out all this great stuff she sent. She knows a lot about me through my blog, so she sent tons of yummy candy for the kids including different types of chocolate and gummy treats. They went crazy and wanted to sample one of everything! Dagmar sent me a pkg. of ground Cardamon (which is very common in Swedish cookies and cakes), also a handmade butter knife (it's beautiful), a vegetarian cookbook written in English and Swedish, Rose hip soup (also very common in Sweden), and mini Macaroons to be served with vanilla ice cream.

I love this swap thing. It is such a great way to connect with people across the world. I feel like I have a new pen pal and will keep in touch with Dagmar throughout the years. Thank you Dagmar for your thoughtful gift. I love everything.

If you would like to check out Dagmar's blog, go to www.acatinthekitchen.com She has a wonderful blog and you can tell she is a great cook.

Dear Julie,

I'm happy that you and the children liked the parcel (although I'm sure they didn't like the salty licorice :-) ).

I'm very sorry to hear about Grandpa. My thoughts are with you.

Blogging by post is great, I love getting to know people all over the world. I can't wait to the next round!

many hugs
Dagmar

That is such a great idea. I think it is so amazing it was from Sweden. Dagmar was our Grandpa Greg's sisters name.
