Double trouble...

I've had a few friends ask lately where my girls got their cute beanies. Well, my Mom is one of the most amazing ladies in this entire world and truth be told...  she made my girls 5 hats and 5 coordinating flowers each for Christmas this past year. How cute is she? My girls love their hats and they love their Grandma even more. Thanks Mama Seeta! We LOVE you!

Man I love these girlies!

Valentine fun...

Boy oh boy am I ready for a nap right now and it's only 2:15 in the afternoon... sheesh! The kids celebrated Valentine's Day at school because they have Monday off. Here's the run down...

Berkley is in the 6th grade and FINALLY got to go to her first Valentine's dance. She and her friends were so excited to get all dolled up and strut their darling stuff for the big day. They had a total blast and it was fun to be apart of this giant production.

This is a picture of the entire 6th grade. Aren't they cute?
 Berks & Cody...
This is Berkley patiently awaiting the next boy to ask her to dance...
 Berks, Rach & Mihali
 Nice limbo Berks!
 So sweet... Nicholas & Berks
Look at all these darling faces. Berkley has such a fun group of friends.
 Berks and Hannah
It was so fun to take pictures and capture this time in their lives. I know Berks will look back on this day with fondness.
I think Berks had way more fun dancing with her girlfriends than with the boys

 Another darling group photo
 And another...
Thanks to the Moms for all their hard work. It really paid off and the kids had an amazing time.
There's nothing in this world sweeter than a Kindergarten Valentine party. Bryn was in HEAVEN today. She got to play games, decorate a cookie and pass out her Valentine's to each friend. She was on cloud nine. This is Bryn with her amazing teacher, Mrs. Heldt.

 Man I love this girlie!
Last but certainly not least, Mr. Mason!
The 3rd graders celebrated Valentine's Day by learning their manners and having a Valentine Tea to show their awesomeness. Mason got dressed in his Sunday best and couldn't wait to get the party started.
I can't believe I have 3 kids in Elementary School this year. It was quite the chore to make the rounds and see ALL 3 KIDS throughout the day, but I'm so glad I did and there's nowhere I'd rather be today than here with them.

xoxo,
Happy Valentine's Day!

Go Brighton Fury...

A few months back Mason was asked to play on a Competition Basketball league team. At first I was reluctant because Mason's not the competitive type, but after talking it threw with Joe, we decided it might be good for the kid. Now,  2 months later... I'm thrilled for the kid. He is LOVING it! He's still not super competitive, but he sure loves his teammates.

This picture was taken after we played in the Martin Luther King 3 day tournament and guess what?.... WE WON the whole darn thing!!!!
I cannot explain how important team sports are for kids. It builds a sort of bond that is like no other experience.
I love this picture of the coaches talking with the boys over a time-out. We have the best team and the VERY BEST coaches imaginable. They are all about positive reinforcement. I love it!
Mason on the sideline. I love that he's happy no matter what the outcome.
He's such a handsome, sweet little guy.
This picture was taken before the game. They were warming up in there "warm-up" jersey's.
I'm so proud to be this boys mama. I might be biased but I think Mason's pretty special.

Girls on the run coaching opportunities...

I'm such a HUGE fan of the girls on the run program. I've been a part of this program for years now and I'm always impressed with the girls, coaches and the organization as a whole. If I had more time in my life, I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to be a coach, but unfortunately for me, life is way too crazy right now. Maybe down the road I'll think differently, but for now, being a running buddy is the best I can do. I sure like the idea of getting paid to play though. Don't you?

The GOTR organization is looking for new coaches to head up another Salt Lake GOTR chapter. I want to throw this out there because if you feel like getting involved with this program, NOW IS THE TIME!!!!! Please read thru this post to find out more about the program and contact info if you're interested. You can change the world one girl at a time. The reward is 10 fold. Plus... you will personally learn and grow so much from this amazing program and even more from these amazing girls. If you're even remotely interested, MAKE THE CALL! Just talk to Shelley and she can give you the details. I can promise you this... you won't regret it!

For the Utah readers, Girls On The Run (GOTR) Utah is in need of coaches (Head and Assistant) for our Salt Lake Chapter (non-Utahn’s check out Girls On the Run and find your local chapter here)! GOTR is a super-neat organization that I am passionate about.

Girls on the Run is looking for volunteer coaches for our Spring Session which will run March 1st-May 31st. The session will culminate with a 5k race event at Sugar House Park on May 14th. Coaches training will take place on February 12th @ The Rowland Hall Lower School. We have grown to twenty sites this spring and are excited to invite you to participate.

Girls on the Run is a national non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization formed in 1996 and is the parent organization to more than 173 councils in 43 states. We reach 80,000 girls per year, and 1/3 of our participants, nationally and locally, are on some form of scholarship.

Girls on the Run Salt Lake County started in 2007 and now reaches over 300 girls and their families per session (fall and spring). Our mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. This positive youth development program inspires third through fifth grade girls to stay true to themselves and live free from societal stereotypes. Each session is lead by trained coaches that guide and mentor the girls through a fun and uplifting curriculum. The 12-week program concludes with all participants walking or running in a 5K (3.1 mile) event.
