It's great to be eight

Today was a special day for our cute lil' cousin Logan. He was baptized this afternoon and boy was he happy about that. You seriously couldn't wipe the smile off his face.

The weather was perfect. The kids were happy and I have to say, my personality is finally back to normal after that LONG (dreadful) winter.

I promised the kids I'd only take 3 pictures if they cooperated. (thanks guys)
 Cute cousins
Love our Risher family
Happy Father and Son bonding moment
 Chelse and Loges... so cute
I love the innocence of a freshly baptized 8 year old. He is such a cutie!
I think Mason is pretty proud of his cousin.
Gotta love that triple chin I'm sporting in this picture. It's quite becoming of me,  don't you think?
 Brynerz and Chloe

I love this picture of my Dad showing off "something" top secret to Joe. No clue what it is, but I'm certain it'll change the world...
Our beautiful Nana Low. It was so fun to see her today. She's been in a lot of pain lately, but she's such a trooper and wanted to be with her family on this special occasion. Bless her heart!
How cute is lil' Asher? Chocolate face and all!
It was fun to catch up with Jer Jer for a minute. He's super busy with school, work and hanging out with his little guy Asher.
Mom played a beautiful musical number on the Piano for Logan's baptism today and it was flawless as usual. After the baptism, we piled in the car and headed over to her house for lunch. It was lovely and fun to see everyone.
 The proud parents
My cute lil' friend snuggling up to me. Love her to pieces
 Too cool for words...
We're so proud of Logan and his choice to be baptized. He's such a good kid and we LOVE him so much!

kindergarten dayz

With only a few short days left of school, I find myself in a interesting quandary of mixed emotional confusion. On one hand, I can't WAIT to sleep in, relax from homework & rigorous after-school activities, play in the sun and enjoy my kids every minute of the day.... BUT, on the other hand, this is my last year of kindergarten... EVER!  That's enough to make me cry my eyes out. I can't believe I'm done with kindergarten FOREVER!

Isn't that strange?

I'm sure I'll get over it, but man am I sad right now. Bryn's teacher is the 'salt of the earth' kind of teacher and I can't bear to say good-bye... : (

We spent a good portion of our day at the elementary school. Bryn received her "Bobcat award" this morning and performed her kindergarten program this afternoon. It was adorable.  I swear there's nothing cuter than a 6 year old singing. I might be a little out of control with pictures, but here are just a few of my favorites...

Bryn picking her free book after the assembly. This is a BIG deal!
Berkley may or may not be dressed as Boomer for the Bobcat assembly???
Shh.... don't tell! (school mascot)
Our amazing principle... Mrs. Waddell... love her!
Our Twin Falls cousins are visiting and we are soooooo happy about that. They slept over last night and got to go to the kids' school with me. I also had the K twins over to play. 5 cute girls. Look at Bryn's face. She is about the happiest girl on the planet... dreamy!
I braided all 5 girls hair in a crown braid with matching bows. Don't they look darling?
 Cute cousins

Brynerz standing with her sweet teacher Mrs. Heldt for the last time... tear. We miss her already!
Joe had business meetings in LA this morning, so I promised him I'd video tape Bryn's program. Here's a little snippet of one of her songs.

Good bye kindergarten dayz... Hello 1st grade!

How do you want to be remembered?

Carol posed a thought provoking question to our family last night.

How do you want to be remembered?

We gathered at the cemetery yesterday and CC shared stories about her great-grandparents, grandparents,  parents and husband along with pictures. What a special time for my kids to learn about their heritage.  The general theme was service. I love hearing about the wonderful examples of loved ones that lived such great lives, full of hard work, sacrifice & service.

Joe's dad passed away 14 years ago, but is remembered by many. This past April, he was given a high honor. It's called the LeRoy J. Pia Conservation Award. It's an award named after him because he was a passionate outdoorsman and loved & respected the world around him. He was the Utah Open Lands' first chairman. This award will be given to a special recipient each year for leading conservationist efforts in the State of Utah. What an honor and what a great man!

I'm grateful and proud to be apart of this family.
