Last summer trip to Eden.....

With school starting next week and a short, insane summer, it's hard to fit it ALL in. We decided to SQUEEZE one last adult weekend trip to prepare ourselves for school, schedules, car-pool's, homework, football, dance and all around craziness associated with fall/winter.
ahhhh...... it was HEAVEN!
I'm now ready to tackle my life!
We did it all; hiking, tennis, boating, eating, dancing, laughing and laughing and laughing, ping-pong, golfing, shopping, reading, sleeping and most importantly..... spending time with dear friends, old and new!

Thought I'd share.....

There is nothing I like more than to sit around, wrapped in a soft blanket and read a great book. A friend of mine from high-school recommended this book and I decided to pick it up and try it out. I've had reader's block lately and haven't found a book that truly interests me.
UNTIL NOW!
All I can say is WOW!
Such a gripping, insightful book. I absolutely LOVED it. Hope you'll check it out.
It is called
Sarah's Key
by: Tatiana De Rosnay

Paris. Spring 1942. The Vel’ d’ Hiv’ (Operation Spring Breeze). Tatiana de Rosnay’s novel Sarah’s Key revolves around this deplorable historic event. Operation Spring Breeze was a French-led “round-up” of more than 13,000 Parisian Jews (mostly women and children) under order of the Nazis. Initially kept in inhumane conditions at the VĂ©lodrome d’Hiver (an indoor cycle track), these victims of the Holocaust were eventually moved to concentration camps inside France (where they were guarded by French gendarmes) and later moved to Auschwitz where they were slaughtered. The roundup accounted for more than a quarter of the 42,000 Jews sent from France to Auschwitz. The Vel’ d’ Hiv’ has become of symbol of national shame in France.

Bear Lake P-union....

Every year we plan a Pia reunion with Joe's mom and siblings. This year we went back to Bear Lake, only we stayed at my parents cabin instead of Sweet water. We had such a great time eating, laughing, playing cards, flipping through magazines, reading good books, shopping, slurping down shakes, munching on fresh cooked donuts, watching the cousins run wild and witnessing Moose walk through the yard!

Crazy adventures....

Last month Joe was lucky enough to see the Pussycat dolls perform in concert in LA. I'm so jealous because, although I think this group needs to put a little  thought into their skimpy wardrobe, I'm sure they're such a fun, pumped band and put on a great show.

Well, come to find out, the concert wasn't really a concert at all. It was more like a room with a few hundred people, the Pussycat dolls and my very cute, naive, pure, innocent husband... haha!
Joe not only got to meet the Pussycat Dolls, he also stood with them and posed in this half naked photo.  Honestly, I think they're much better looking on T.V. and I'm still a little jealous.... just a lil'
